EU shipping update: paused for private customers outside Sweden — here's why

EU shipping update

Important information about EU shipping

As of 12 August 2026, new EU packaging regulations (the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, PPWR) require sellers who ship packaged goods directly to private customers in another EU country to appoint, pay for and report through an authorised representative in every one of those countries.

For a small independent publisher like Fool, this is unfortunately not viable - especially since the requirement applies equally whether we send one parcel a year or a hundred.

We have therefore had to pause shipping to private customers in EU countries outside Sweden.

  • Orders within Sweden are unaffected and continue as usual.
  • Orders to destinations outside the EU (including the UK, Switzerland, Norway, the US, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Asia) are unaffected and continue as usual.
  • Only direct consumer orders shipping to EU countries other than Sweden are currently paused.

For bookshops, galleries and trade customers

If you are a bookshop, gallery, distributor or other trade or wholesale customer anywhere in the EU, please contact us directly at pa@foolagency.com to arrange ordering and shipping. We remain very happy to work with stockists across Europe.

We are very sorry for the inconvenience this causes. We are monitoring the situation closely and will update this page as soon as there is a workable solution.
