"Working as a professional chef and graduate photographer, I thought about this idea and googled it. Funnily enough, here it was, chefs meals, recipes n'all! I bought this book as a curiosity, seeing how it was written, photographed and such. I expected elaborate photoshoots, staged performances from chefs and pretentious recipes in following.
What I received couldn't be further from what I imagined. It is a humbling book, documenting chefs, the personalities, creativeness, and of course the eccentric. The photographs felt almost personal, and some reminding me of my day to day life with quick lunches- eating them crouched down behind the pass to avoid customers seeing us eat our 5 minute meal to fuel our 15 hour shift. The imagery is poetic, the book is well written, and just beautifully put together. I honestly wish I thought of this idea to create a book first. But that said, I probably couldn't have done it justice and put it together this well.
This book is highly recommended, as a cookbook, a photo book, and just a conversation piece. Simply brilliant." – amazon.co.uk customer review
